NSITF Registration and Compliance Certificate in Nigeria
Lifehampers helps employers register with the Nigeria Social Insurance Trust Fund (NSITF), pay the Employees' Compensation Scheme contribution and get the NSITF compliance certificate for tenders and BPP registration.

How NSITF Registration Works
The Nigeria Social Insurance Trust Fund runs the Employees' Compensation Scheme (ECS) under the Employees' Compensation Act 2010. It pays compensation to workers, or their families, for work-related injuries, illness or death.
Every employer is expected to register and contribute. Private-sector employers pay 1% of their total monthly payroll into the Fund, and a compliance certificate is issued to employers who are up to date.
- Employer registration with business and owner details
- Payroll assessment and 1% contribution payment
- Certificate of registration, then the compliance certificate
- Yearly renewal to keep the certificate valid for tenders
Register the Employer
We complete your employer registration (Form ECS RE01 or the NSITF online portal) with your company, sector and staff details.
Pay the Contribution
NSITF assesses your contribution from your staff numbers and payroll. You pay directly to NSITF and we lodge the receipts.
Get the Certificate
After registration and payment, we apply for your NSITF compliance certificate and add the renewal date to your reminders.
Why It Matters
NSITF compliance is a standard requirement for federal contracts and BPP registration, alongside PENCOM and ITF certificates.
How We Help
We prepare the payroll schedule, handle registration, track payment confirmation and combine NSITF with your other contract certificates.
Questions people often ask
Straight answers to the questions we hear most often.
Who must register with NSITF?
Employers in Nigeria are expected to register under the Employees' Compensation Act and contribute to the Employees' Compensation Scheme.
How much do employers contribute?
Private-sector employers contribute 1% of their total monthly payroll. NSITF confirms the amount from your staff and payroll details.
Is NSITF the same as pension?
No. Pension contributions go to PFAs under PENCOM. NSITF contributions fund compensation for work-related injury, illness or death. See our PENCOM certificate service.
Do I need NSITF for government contracts?
Yes. An NSITF compliance certificate is normally required with PENCOM, ITF, tax clearance and BPP registration. See BPP and IRR.
How long does it take?
Usually 1 to 3 weeks once payroll details are ready and payment is confirmed.
