What NRS E-Invoicing Means for Your Business
- Invoices must be sent through the NRS Merchant Buyer Solution (MBS), which gives each valid invoice a unique reference number.
- You connect through an NRS-accredited Access Point Provider or System Integrator, either by linking your software or by using a provider's web portal.
- Large taxpayers (₦5 billion+ turnover) had to be fully live by 31 July 2026.
- Medium taxpayers (₦1 billion to ₦5 billion) went live on 1 July 2026, with enforcement expected from January to March 2027.
- Businesses below ₦1 billion are expected to start in 2027, with mandatory adoption targeted for January 2028.
- Buyers may lose input VAT claims on invoices that did not go through the system, so big customers may ask you to comply early.
